Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Well folks, Christmas is finally upon us so I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best. We may not always agree on points of concern, sometimes angry words are exchanged and there are even those who visit here that would prefer every Newfoundlander and Labradorian would get washed out to sea (or in the case of WJM, just every Newfoundlander). That doesn't matter today because this is a time for all of us to put aside our differences and spend time with our loved ones.

I'll be taking a little break during the holiday season but I'll be back again in the new Year. I hope you will as well.

Happy Holidays, keep safe and (INSERT PREFERRED DEVINITY HERE) Bless you all.

Cheers,

Myles

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And as you say Myles, this greeting can be substituted for whatever your divinity. In this greeting I wish all my fellow human beings a wonderfully, happy and healthy time and complete security. Please keep in mind that we have to be kind to all of the animal species that share our space in this world, as well. Happy Holidays!

A safe and healthy new year to all.
To all animals, including humans.
The world doesn't belong to humans. Humans belong to the world.

Hopefully 2007 will mark the end of the brutal Canadian seal hunt.

Merry Christmas,
Pat.

Merry Christmas to you as well, Pat. And hopefully the brutal LIVING and killing of the ducks, geese and calves especially reared for the production of "foie gras' and 'veal' will come to an abrupt end as well. (You see I have highlighted LIVING by capitalization, there are no animals more brutally treated than the ducks, geese and calves, which are reared for the specialty meats produced for the palates of the rich ‘elite’ people of society, those people with enough money to enable them to buy rich meats such as the ones above. Pat, please, we need you to lend your voice and put your fingers to your keyboard regarding that humungous barbaric problem that is created with the rearing of the ducks, geese, and calves for the specialty meat productions that I just mentioned. You see there aren't any animals in this world that LIVE a more barbaric life and die such a barbaric life than do the ducks, geese and calves. There are things that are worse in life than death and the LIVING of these animals is FAR WORSE. The methods of rearing these animals for production of the specialty meats, is the most horrific known to mankind. These animals die a thousands deaths in the LIVING process. Thank you in advance, Pat, I do hope you do not ignore the barbarism involved and that you will mention that problem in your next posting, otherwise please do not mention the seal, since the seal has a leisurly life froclicing in the ocean compared to the ducks, geese and calves wallowing in a space in a cage not much bigger than thje space their bodies occupy. It is very irritating when you do not mention such barbaric acts perpetrated on the above animals. Also Pat please think of all the human being sufferings out there, especially the ones who are murdered every year by another human being. You will show your compassion, only, when the other human beings and animal problems have been mentioned. Otherwise we will see you campaigning only on behalf of the seal, solely because it fills the coffers of your anti-sealing organization and just because it gives each individual involved in this organization, with so little input of effort, a wonderfully easy way to make a living.

Insert preferred divinity??

That's a cop out if I ever saw one. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

Myles, I just resd your MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy NEW YEAR post .You are saying this is a time for all of us to" put aside our differences", yet you singled out WJM. That was very mean-spirited and uncalled for, don't you think?

Yeah. Poor ol' WJM. He must be very hurt. I'm sure his Christmas was not as cheery as it could have been because of Myles' malicious and mean-spirited dig. Geez Myles - how can you be so mean?!?

WJM - I'm so sorry that you had to suffer the way you did at the hands of that jerk Myles. Hope you were able to enjoy yourself over the holidays just the same.

For you MT PEARLIGAN: Your sarcasm is not lost!! Very interesting response!! However you are what you are I guess!!!

For you ANON (whichever Anon you are): Myles was only having a little go at WJM - no worse than the shit-disturber himself dishes out. The fact of the matter is WJM never comes to the table with a constructuve attitude and simply wants to interfere in conversation. It's absurd that Myles humourous holiday greeting causes such a reaction from you in the first place.

mt.pearligan I guess it takes one to know one eh? ( when we are talking shit disturbers, that is) Anyway, since when did you become "champion" for Myles? He can speak for himself.

Hi all, it's good to see that there are those here who can even find something to contradict or complain about in a simple holiday message.

Not that its worth defending but my shot at WJM was fired in good humour and in jest only. I noticed that he didn't complain about it and that should tell everyone something.

To the Anon who said essentially that my note of "Insert divinity" was a cop out and that I should say what I mean, the truth of the matter is that I DID mean it. I couldn't care less if you worship a budget brand of toilet paper. If that's what gets you through the day then go for it. Many of us have our own way of practicing some sort of religious belief and I simply wanted to make the point that regardless of which one we choose to follow then may that "entity" bless you in the coming year.

I was going to sign off by saying, "Catch you all later", but I'd better not. There's libel to be someone who will think I plan to track them down and kidnap them as a part of some evil plot. Instead I'll just say so long. (Anyone care to pick that apart?)

I have plenty of constructive attitudes.

Sorry you interpret my fondness for facts, and critical thought, as "interference". If you want some kind of intellectual incest, where never is heard a dissenting word, join the groupthink over at NLDL.
