It's Time to Get Off the Sidelines and be Heard
Hello folks,
I have to say, I'm a little underwhelmed and disappointed with the number of signatures that have appeared on the petition to return Newfoundland and Labrador's Military History.
I originally put out the call for signatures on this site 10 days ago. In that time, the site has been hit by nearly 1000 visitors. This has resulted in a grand total of 20 signatures. Not very impressive, in fact it's terrible.
I realize we are all busy, but it only takes a minute to click the link, read the petition (which is only a couple of paragraphs) and sign it. The way I see it, if you are interested enough in the Newfoundland and Labrador experience to visit this site, how can you not be concerned about the fact that our pre-Confederation history is stored away someplace in Ottawa.
Come on folks. Take a minute to help us ensure that our children and our children's children have the opportunity to learn about the rich past of their province. You may think that your one signature won't make a difference, but it can.

Move to some third world dictatorship if you don't want to be apart of creating a better world, country, Province, region, Community, neighborhood, and family, through a democratic process.
Or just wait until the militants take matters into their own hands. We could always use a few more militants like over in Ireland, Yugoslavia, Ethiopia, Afganistan, Israel, or Iraq just to name a few because the people weren't willing or were afraid to speak up for change. Either due to beaten wife syndrom media control or threats. Luckily we don't have to worry about that yet!

I don't think so. If the people, that means you people reading these posts and nodding your heads in agreement but doing nothing. Speak up, change can be effected through a peacefull process. But only if you the people speak up and let your concerns and views be known!
What would our past Heros and veterans think about your malaise? At defending what they so valiantly fought and DIED for?
Look at the Legions recent demand of a sworn oath of allegiance from the new proposed Govenor General? Sorry no links to media. I have to many battles to fight as it is. These old men see what is happening and are uniting to speak out and show their discontent at the Parisan appointments in the GG office, Suppreme court partisan appointments and Senate partisan appointments.
I'm ashamed to remark that our American friends seem more involved and interested in bettering (saving)our country than the people who live here?
As for people speaking out chances are if you can afford a computer and the monthly ISP fees that go along with it your probably somewhat financially secure.
Personally I had to make a decision to cut something due to fiscal restraints I decided to cut the cable. I never did like being a zombie and being force fed the same news or shows over and over.
More often than not once, was more than enough! TV is designed for Alseimers cases no insult intended, just trying to make a point.
Whats my point? Well the poorer people probably don't have access to this medium. Especially considering NL's current economic and fiscal plight. Not to mention the remoteness of some areas.
